Sadie received a reading coin today to select a book from our vending machine. Sadie is always reading when she has an extra minute. She even carries her book to lunch and recess. I know she truly loves to read!

Students in Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. Singer's 4th grade classes joined together to celebrate and demonstrate their learning of what it means to have a literal great heart by creating candy diagrams of hearts. Students focused on pieces of candy that could figuratively represent the different parts of the heart, how it works, and also included a main idea statement of what their diagram is representing. ❤️

3rd graders at SES were visited by a park ranger from Assateague Island. They learned about how pony DNA determines the variety of traits found in Assateague Ponies (eye color, fur pattern, hoof color, etc.). The children were excited to develop and name their own ponies based off of sample DNA.

The Pre-K goal is to reach 500 Books read aloud in class. Students in Mrs. Cole and Ms. Gault's Pre-K 4 Class celebrated logging 100 Books in class by bringing in stuffed animals. The stuffed animals participated in Dance Friday, helping with our Morning Meeting, and playing in centers. Way to go Pre-K, keep up the great work! ❤️📚❤️
