4th grade got to step back in time today at Mt. Hermon Plow Days! We learned about life on a farm before tractors, electricity, and machinery existed! We all agree farming has always been hard work!

Meet Andrea Kominos, Showell Elementary School's Teacher of the Year, who we'll be celebrating at the annual Teacher of the Year Celebration on April 4.
Andrea Kominos, Stephen Decatur alumna, earned a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Education in Reading Specialist from Salisbury University. Celebrating her tenth year at Showell Elementary, she is dedicated to teaching Kindergarten. Kominos firmly believes that love is the driving force for success in any classroom. She strives to create a dynamic kinesthetic learning experience, fostering a space where students feel loved, safe, engaged, and motivated to take risks in their learning journey. Kominos actively contributes to various committees and serves as a mentor for university interns and new teachers, leaving a positive impact on the educational community.

Our 4th grade got to participate in a lab run by Worcester Technical Highschool's Biomedical students today! This lab helped highlight the biomedical program at WTHS and also tied to our current science unit, Human body, vision, and the brain! Thank you WTHS for leading our scientists today!











With spring around the corner, WCPS is releasing its updated current school year calendar that reflects an updated last day of school, given the single inclement weather closure this year. Please note, June 14 and 17 still appear as potential make-up days, but are unlikely to be used.
