Stephen Decatur High School students Azariyah J. and Amiyah S. are working as youth apprentices at Buckingham Elementary School. Both students completed the Early Childhood program at Worcester Technical High School, and now spend their mornings working in a PreK3 classroom applying their skills and gaining valuable experience.

Pocomoke High School student, Curtasia S., is currently an apprentice in Ms. Hartman’s PreK3 classroom at Pocomoke Elementary. Having completed Mrs. Carey’s Early Childhood Academy at Worcester Technical High School, Curtasia is now gaining valuable experience in our schools. According to Ms. Hartman, she is very proactive and provides significant assistance in the classroom.

Happy World Diabetes Day! 4th and 5th graders at SHMS learned about Type 1 diabetes today and how it effects those who have it. A student-led presentation taught students about how diabetes functions in the body and the mechanisms that type 1 diabetics use to manage their diabetes.
