MD Medicaid renewal is not automatic this year

Medicaid Renewal Campaign - Back to School

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Medicaid renewals occurred automatically. This year, Medicaid renewals are not automatic. Over 36% of Maryland children under the age of 19 receive Medicaid benefits for their health coverage. As the back-to-school season approaches, the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) is seeking the help of local education agencies (LEAs) to inform impacted Maryland families of this change. It is important for Medicaid participants to update their contact information so that they will receive notice when their renewal period is open. Not everyone will be up for renewal at the same time. Medicaid participants will receive a notice in the mail or in their online account (if they chose paperless) when it is time to renew.
