Ocean Pines, MD June 7, 2023 - What is CCSS? It's a public school in Worcester County known as Cedar Chapel Special School located in Snow Hill serving students who have moderate to severe disabilities. (L-R) Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines - Ocean City, MD President Bob Wolfing and CCSS Principal Belinda who was the guest speaker at the Wednesday morning meeting on June 7th. Presently, CCSS has 47 students who can range from 3 years of age to 21. Students are included in general education curriculum with the goals to be gainfully employed and self-sufficient at home and within the community. The majority of students have communication and/or behavioral disorders requiring specialized visual education. CCSS is the only school of its kind on the entire Maryland Eastern Shore. Students come from schools in Worcester County from which it is determined placement at CCSS. The work by the dedicated special education teachers is most important.
