
Selena Quintanilla Pérez, known professionally as Selena, was an American singer. Referred to as the "Queen of Tejano Music", her contributions to music and fashion made her one of the most celebrated Mexican-American entertainers of the late 20th century. She was born on April 16, 1971.

Óscar Arístides Renta Fiallo, known professionally as Oscar de la Renta, was a Dominican fashion designer. He was born in Santo Domingo in 1932. De la Renta became internationally known in the 1960s. He has won many awards including the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame.


Our 6th grade students are designing cylinder seals as they did in Ancient Sumer to show ownership. They also took advantage of the beautiful weather and made the courtyard their classroom. #3RsBIS

Sandra Cisneros is a poet, short story writer, novelist, essayist, performer, and artist. She is best known for her first novel, The House on Mango Street. She also wrote a children's book called Hairs/Pelitos. Sandra was born on December 20, 1954.
