Snow Hill, MD, October 9, 2024 - Snow Hill Middle School teacher Michael Shumate was surprised to see students and colleagues lining the halls of the school to congratulate him on the news he was to be recognized as a Lower Shore Teacher of Distinction by the Kappa Delta Pi (KDP): Rho Eta Chapter at Salisbury University.
The Rho Eta chapter of Kappa Delta Pi promotes excellence in and recognizes outstanding contributions to education. Shumate was recognized at the chapter’s E. Pauline Riall Lecture Dinner for being a Salisbury University graduate who embodies the ideals of professional development, community service, and leadership in his/her career on the Eastern Shore.
