WTHS Students Earn FFA Awards

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD, July 9, 2024 - Worcester Technical High School was honored during the 96th annual Maryland FFA State Convention held at Garrett College and the WISP Resort in McHenry, Maryland, June 24-26.

During the convention, Maryland FFA State Officers announced the top teams and individuals in the career and leadership development events. Worcester Tech's team took first place in the Agricultural Issues Forum, which means the team will advance to represent Maryland in the National FFA competitions this fall.

In addition, Worcester Technical High School student Brooke Fitzgerald was recognized alongside 51 other seniors who earned the State's FFA degree. To earn this degree, Fitzgerald successfully completed 360 hours of agricultural education instruction, productively invested $1,000 or 300 hours in a supervised agricultural experience program and demonstrated leadership abilities above the chapter level.
