Tuesday, February 20, 2024, Regular Meeting of the Board of Education
The Worcester County Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting in the Board Meeting Room at the Worcester County Board of Education Central Office located at 6270 Worcester Highway, Newark, MD. The Board will convene at 9:30 a.m. to immediately consider voting to convene in closed session under General Provisions Art. § 3-305(b) of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
Immediately following closed session, the Board will recess to travel to the County Commissioners’ meeting (Worcester County Government Center, Room 1101, One West Market Street, Snow Hill, Maryland 21863), where it will attend a presentation to Commissioners from Maryland’s Accountability & Implementation Board (AIB) on the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. This portion of the meeting can be livestreamed through the Commissioners’ platform at https://worcestercountymd.swagit.com/live.
The Board is anticipated to reconvene its open session at the Board of Education Central Office at 1:00 p.m.

All individuals who have signed up to address the Worcester County Board of Education may do so for one to two minutes regarding information, commendations, or concerns, which may need future Board attention. Concerns that are specific to an individual will not be discussed in open session and should be directed to appropriate district personnel for investigation. When you are called to address the Board, please state your name and address for the record.
Thursday, February 22, 2024, Special Meeting of the Board of Education
The Worcester County Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Thursday, February 22, 2024, to simultaneously meet with the County Commissioners and the Interagency Committee on School Construction (IAC) regarding the Buckingham Elementary replacement school project.
The Board will convene at 12:30 p.m. in the Board Meeting Room at the Worcester County Board of Education Central Office located at 6270 Worcester Highway, Newark, MD, to immediately recess to travel to the Commissioners’ first floor board room (Worcester County Government Center, Room 1101, One West Market Street, Snow Hill, Maryland 21863), where it will reconvene at 1:00 p.m. This portion of the meeting can be livestreamed through the Commissioners’ platform at https://worcestercountymd.swagit.com/live.
Following the simultaneous meeting with the IAC and Commissioners, the Board will reconvene in open session back at the Board of Education Central Office. No action is anticipated at this meeting.
