SHHS CyberPatriot

Snow Hill High School’s CyberPatriot team recently completed the last online round of CyberPatriot XII before the National Finals Competition. The team’s performance in this round earned them Maryland’s 1st Place Award in the Silver Tier.

CyberPatriot, the Air Force Association’s National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, was created to educate and motivate students across the country toward careers in cybersecurity and other science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) paths.

Coach Michelle Kosin remarked, “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. They didn’t let anything get in the way of the competition. Congratulations to Samantha Wells, Jarrett Aleshire, Kai Boyle, Jace Rabon, Emelia Goddard, and Joey Dykes for their hard-work and dedication!”

This competition challenges student teams from across the US, Canada, and other schools abroad to identify and solve cybersecurity vulnerabilities through simulated environments.

The CyberPatriot XII National Finals Competition was scheduled to be held this month in Rockville, MD, but has been moved online, due to COVID-19, details TBD.
