Two-hundred teachers were selected from 4,000 applicants nationwide to participate in TeachFest, a professional development conference focused on networking around Common Core best-practices and resources. The June 4-7 conference was held in New Orleans.

Three of the six participants selected from Maryland are Worcester County Public School teachers: Alison Giska, Curriculum Resource Teacher at Buckingham Elementary; Erica Matlock, Second Grade Teacher at Buckingham Elementary; and Julia Hill, Mathematics Teacher at Worcester Technical High School.

National Dream Team teachers will share what they have learned with their school system, while continuing to collaborate with their Dream Team digital professional learning community (PLC). The Dream Team effort supports LearnZillion which “champions teachers and provides schools and districts with an effective bridge to the Common Core.” (Visit www.LearnZillion.com to learn more.)
