November 11, 2020 - COVID-19 Announcement
Posted on 11/11/2020

Good evening, Worcester families and staff,

This evening, I want to share with you that effective tomorrow, November 12, Worcester Technical High School will be moving to distance learning until November 30. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution following a notification today of two positive COVID-19 test results at Stephen Decatur High School that impact our technical high school.

As our technical high school welcomes students from Pocomoke, Snow Hill, and Stephen Decatur High Schools, we feel it is best to be proactive with this decision to protect the students in those other communities from exposure. Moving forward, it will be our practice that should any of our comprehensive high schools close as a result of COVID-19, we will also close Worcester Technical High School in tandem.

Lastly, I want to stress to all of you the important role you play in helping to keep our schools open for in-person learning. We must rely on each of you to properly wear your face coverings at all times, to maintain physical distancing whenever possible, and as you review the symptoms of COVID-19 each day, please be honest and stay home when you are not feeling well.

We need your partnership in this like we never have before, and I thank you for helping us to keep our students and staff safe.

Have a good evening, and as always, God bless you and your family.

Thank you,
Lou Taylor
Superintendent of Schools
